Summary

Peerino is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect personal data, track usage, or send your files to any server.

Data We Do Not Collect

• No personal information (name, email, IP address logs)
• No usage analytics or telemetry
• No cookies for profiling or advertising
• No files: all transfers happen directly between users (P2P)

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

• Peer ID: a randomly generated identifier stored in config/peer_id.json
• Shared files: stored in your local shared-folder/
• Configuration: stored in .env and config/

All this data stays on your device. You can delete it at any time by removing the Peerino folder.

Third-Party Services

Peerino uses the following external services only for connection setup (never for file content):

• Signaling: 0.peerjs.com sees temporary connection metadata (Peer IDs), not file content.
• STUN servers: public servers (Google, Cloudflare, etc.) used to discover your public IP for direct connections.
• TURN server (if configured): Metered, used as a relay only when a direct connection is impossible. It sees encrypted traffic that it cannot decrypt.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Since we do not collect any data, there is nothing to request, export, or delete. You have full control over your local data.

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will reflect the change.
